I never wanted Active Property Investing to feel like a sales business. For more than 12 years, I've built it as a professional services firm where the work starts with the market and the investor, not the property. Research comes first. Every recommendation should stand the test of time.
Before property, I worked in performance psychology alongside elite athletes. Elite results are never an accident. They are built on preparation, evidence and the discipline to do what is right, even when it isn't the easy option.
I grew up watching hardworking people do everything right and still find property out of reach. As I built my own financial literacy, I discovered an industry with the power to change lives that too often prioritised transactions over people.
So in 2014 I founded Active Property Investing to do things differently: a research-led consultancy built on education, disciplined research and long-term partnerships. Since then we have helped hundreds of Australians build wealth through property, with many returning for their second, third and fourth investment.
I didn't set out to become a real estate agent. I set out to become an advocate, an educator and a strategist. Property became the vehicle. Empowering people to build wealth for generations became the purpose.
A bigger team does not make a stronger business. We stopped chasing headcount and focused on building the right team, in the right roles, with the right skills. The result was our strongest financial performance to date.
I recruit for attitude, curiosity and character, then invest in people's growth. Many of our team have been with API for years, with several progressing into leadership roles. That longevity isn't luck. It's culture.
My approach to leadership draws on performance psychology and years of building teams: high standards, shared purpose and accountability. I expect a lot because I back people completely. I believe people perform at their best when they feel trusted, informed and genuinely supported.
Since 2015, a share of what we do has gone towards housing families in rural Cambodia, funding scholarships for women, supporting financial literacy, and backing causes that strengthen our communities.

As regulation, taxation and compliance continue to reshape the property landscape, success will depend less on timing and more on strategy, education and disciplined research. We're extending more than a decade of knowledge into the way we educate, support and guide investors, while preserving the personal service our reputation has been built on.
My ambition has always reached beyond property. It's to help create a more financially confident Australia, where strategy replaces speculation and opportunity creates independence. If we leave our clients more capable, our team stronger than we found them, and our industry better for having us in it, commercial success will follow.
